“We want to say a huge thank you to Squadron Energy for providing funding to support the success of the day and help the students to create and take home their artworks,” Mrs Lane said.
“Art for Youth gives students an outlet for their emotions and allows them to view what the art world has to offer. It is a joy to watch them in the workshops and see the art that they create with such excitement and enthusiasm.
“We also couldn't have run the day without our amazing members of the community who donated their time and skills to co-ordinate the various workshops."
Squadron Energy Senior Project Manager, Trish McDonald said it was an absolute priority for the team to make positive contributions to local communities where projects are located, over the long term.
“What better way to contribute to the community than with this invaluable program - supporting local budding artists and the creativity of the next generation,” she said.
“We are committed to sharing the benefits of our projects through a range of opportunities including the Spicers Creek Wind Farm Community Sponsorship Program.”
The Art for Youth event was held on Friday 19 May, the day before the opening night of Art Unlimited, one of regional Australia’s leading art competitions.
Students were also treated to a guided tour of the Art Unlimited exhibition and a tour of the Art for Youth Junior Art Exhibition.
Each of Squadron’s projects has a community sponsorship program, which provides funds or in-kind support to community organisations and events in the local project area. Information on how to apply can be found at the Community Sponsorship Guidelines & Application web page.
