The latest Electricity Statement of Opportunities (ESOO)
from AEMO is a welcomed confirmation that renewable energy generation is on
track to replace exiting coal generation.
An increased positive outlook on reliability is pleasing, but we know the next few years will be critical to ensure stability of the grid.
We need to ensure we deliver our committed projects in a timely manner and continue our efforts to deliver a substantial pipeline of renewable energy generation.
Squadron Energy has two wind farms currently under construction which will deliver almost 900 megawatts of capacity into the National Electricity Grid (NEM), in addition to five wind farms in operation and an expansive development pipeline on the east coast of wind, solar and battery projects.
Critical to supporting renewable generation, we also have Australia’s only approved and almost completed gas import terminal, Port Kembla Energy Terminal. This vital asset will address gas supply shortages on the east coast and supply gas to flexible gas peaking plants, which will firm renewable energy generation.
