Squadron Energy, Australia’s leading renewable energy company, is inviting businesses local to the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) to find out more about opportunities on its projects.
Two information sessions will be held for businesses, with an aim of increasing local participation.
Squadron Energy’s Regional Economic Development Facilitator Bart Sykes said a range of businesses were encouraged to attend, including civil, construction, traffic and general contractors.
“We’ll be briefing businesses on current and future opportunities, including with Uungula Wind Farm, which is in the early stages of construction,” Mr Sykes said.
“We’re also interested in hearing ideas about how we can support the development of local work opportunities with businesses.
“We’re committed to ensuring local businesses have the opportunity to participate in the renewable energy transition, which translates into local economic benefits for the wider community.”
Squadron Energy, along with Uungula Wind Farm contractor NACAP, will host two-hour briefing sessions at Dubbo and Wellington.
The sessions will outline the Squadron’s local project pipeline and explore the packages available on the Uungula Wind Farm project, and what to expect for businesses new to working on renewable energy projects.
Uungula Wind Farm is located 14km east of Wellington on Wiradjuri Country.
With a generation capacity of around 414MW, once complete, the 69 turbine wind farm will generate enough electricity to power more than 220,000 homes and prevent more than 560,000 tonnes of carbon emissions being released into the atmosphere annually.
Squadron Energy’s projects in the Central-West Orana REZ also include the proposed Spicers Creek Wind Farm and Dubbo Firming Power Station.
