Applications for the fourth round of a Murra Warra Wind Farm Sustainable Community Grant Fund opened last week.
The Murra Warra Wind Farm Sustainable Community Grants Fund is provided by Squadron Energy, and gives financial support to promote social and environmental sustainability initiatives for the Horsham Rural City and Hindmarsh and Yarriambiack shires.
Not-for-profit groups or organisations can apply for small grants of up to $5,000 or large grants of up to $20,000 as part of the wind farm's community investment program.
Wimmera Southern Mallee Development (WSMD) manages the fund.
WSMD chief executive officer Chris Sounness said the program drew an enthusiastic response with its first three rounds.
In all, 32 projects have been funded for non-for-profit groups and organisations, focusing on environmental and sustainability initiatives.
"The fund offers community groups and organisations a platform to create innovative and sustainable environmental projects with both immediate and long term benefits for communities and the broader region," Mr Sounness said.
Additionally, it aims to bolster community ties and social wellbeing by backing projects that promote healthy, active communities.
Applications will close at midnight on Wednesday May 15. All projects must be completed by June 30 next year.
Applications can be made online via: Murra Warra Fund
Hard copy forms can be provided if requested.
