Local not-for-profit groups in the Horsham, Hindmarsh and Yarriambiack municipalities are invited to apply for the 2025 Murra Warra Wind Farm Community Grants Program.

With grants between $5,000 and $20,000 available, the program is designed to support a wide range of community-driven projects and initiatives.

This year’s project categories include sustainable environmental, education and training, social health and wellbeing, sport and recreational, and cultural diversity and arts.

“The Murra Warra Wind Farm is a key renewable energy asset in the region,” said Squadron Energy Executive General Manager, Operations Stuart Davis.

“We’re proud to support the passionate individuals and groups who are working hard to strengthen their local communities. This funding is about empowering local ideas and creating lasting benefits.

“I’d also like to thank everyone who provided feedback about the delivery of the grants program through our community survey. Many of these recommendations have been applied to make the 2025 application and assessment process easier,” said Mr Davis.

Wimmera Southern Mallee Development (WSMD) has administered the Murra Warra Wind Farm Community Grants Program on behalf of Squadron Energy for the past four years.

“Since its launch in 2021, the program has provided more than $300,000 to support local initiatives that make a real difference to community life,” said WSMD CEO Chris Sounness.

“Our role ensures that all corners of the community are aware of the program and have the opportunity to benefit. With our deep local knowledge, we help facilitate a fair and transparent selection process through a committee that includes representatives from councils and the community. This approach ensures the grants are distributed in a way that best supports local needs."

Please note that each group may only submit one application in one category. Submissions close on 31 May, 2025.
