A motorcycle sports club was one of 14 Inverell organisations supported by Squadron Energy’s Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund for the second round of 2025.
The bi-annual fund invites community organisations to submit applications for a share of funding that can be used on equipment and infrastructure purchases, repairs, renovations, programs and events.
This round of funding saw 14 organisations in the Inverell area share $90,000.
The Inverell Motorcycle Sports Club received support for the purchase of a power harrow to improve their track and a shelter shed for equipment storage and a place for riders and spectators to shelter.

The president of the club, Steve Potter, expressed his gratitude to Squadron Energy for the support.
“We are incredibly grateful for your belief in our club and your ongoing support of grassroots community activities,” Mr Potter said.
“Our track brings together local and travelling families, riders of all ages learning new skills and making new friends and visitors who come to enjoy our events.
“This equipment will make a huge difference in the way we maintain our track – keeping it safer, smoother and more enjoyable for riders of all ages and abilities.”
He added that the power harrow also means less hours will have to be spent repairing the track following major events and heavy wet weather.
Mr Potter emphasised that the support from Squadron Energy not only benefits the club but also “the wider community”.
The Inverell Motorcycle Sports Club has 180 members including 90 adults and 90 youth.
Round one of the 2026 Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund is set to open on January 12 next year.
