Households and businesses near Clarke Creek Wind Farm have until 30 June 2026 to sign up for a $1,000 credit on this financial year’s electricity bills through a Squadron Energy pilot program.

More than 40 per cent of those eligible have already signed up to the $290,000 Bill Bonus pilot, which is available to residents and businesses within a 20km radius of the Clarke Creek Wind Farm – Stage One.

Head of Community and Regional Development Jessica Kite said that there are at least 70 households and businesses who could receive the credit for 2025/26 but are yet to complete the simple registration process.

“While community support is strong, I want to make sure that everyone who is eligible knows about the pilot and has the opportunity to register for help with their electricity costs before 30 June 2026,” Ms Kite said.

“Reducing electricity costs for those near our Clarke Creek Wind Farm is one way we are delivering real benefits to locals.”

Isaac Regional Council Mayor Kelly Vea Vea said the Bill Bonus pilot was a practical way to return value to local households and businesses near the wind farm.

“Cost of living remains front of mind for many families and businesses across our region, so it’s important we get the message out about the 30 June 2026 deadline to sign up for this year’s electricity bill credit,” Ms Vea Vea said.

“The two-year pilot has been shaped by community feedback and represents a direct investment in the area, with $291,200 available across the life of the program.”
