Uungula Connect

Squadron Energy is committed to delivering real benefits for local communities where we operate. We have worked closely with our Uungula Wind Farm landowners and neighbours to design a meaningful investment, which will connect eligible residents and businesses to Starlink, NBN or other internet services.

Uungula Connect is a rebate service for households and businesses within approximately 10km of the Uungula Wind Farm boundary.

The rebate is administered by Reswitch. It is capped at $3,200 per household over 24 months and can be used on new or existing subscription plans, hardware and installation.

We are inviting the community to attend a drop-in session at our Wellington office, where they can learn more about the program and receive assistance with registration.

The session will take place on Monday 20 July 2026 from 10a.m to 4p.m, at 16–18 Maughan Street, Wellington NSW 2820.

  • Uungula Connect is an internet connectivity program for households near Uungula Wind Farm. Eligible households receive up to $3,200 to cover the cost of internet hardware, installation, and subscription over two years — at no cost to you.
  • Households within approximately 10km of the Uungula Wind Farm boundary are eligible. This includes both existing and new internet subscribers. You don't need to change your current provider to participate.
  1. You’ll receive a postcard in the mail with a unique registration code.
  2. Visit Reswitch and enter your code.
  3. Confirm your details and choose your internet provider (Starlink, NBN, or other eligible service).
  4. Upload a copy of your internet bill or equipment invoice.
  5. You’ll receive monthly payments directly to your bank account to cover your internet costs.
  • The balance covers internet-related costs including: Starlink or NBN hardware, mounting equipment, professional installation, and monthly subscription fees. It cannot be used for general IT equipment, mobile phone plans, or non-internet services.

Yes. If you already have an active internet subscription, you can submit your ongoing bills as claims against your $3,200 balance. You don’t need to change anything — just register and start claiming.

  • If you choose Starlink, the kit is designed for self-installation in most cases. If you need professional installation (e.g. complex roof mounting), you can arrange this with a local installer of your choice. The cost of professional installation can be claimed against your $3,200 balance.

Rebates may be claimed for the following:

  • internet service subscriptions (e.g., Starlink, NBN, or other licensed broadband providers)
  • satellite or ISP hardware (e.g., Starlink dish and router kit, Starlink “mini” NBN modem/router) 
  • professional installation, including mounting, cabling, and associated electrical work directly related to internet equipment
  • mounting equipment (e.g., pole mounts, roof mounts, tripods, brackets, weatherproof enclosures)
  • in-home and on-property network infrastructure that extends internet coverage, including mesh WiFi systems, wireless access points, network switches, signal boosters, and internal cabling.
  • Internet of Things (IoT) devices, such as smart sensors, water level monitors, soil moisture probes, livestock GPS trackers, remote cameras, and weather stations 
  • agricultural technology equipment, such as LoRaWAN gateways, farm telemetry kits, and precision agriculture hardware
  • smart home devices, such as smart speakers, smart plugs, smart lights, and smart thermostats
  • home security and CCTV systems
  • mobile phone plans, portable hotspot devices, and mobile broadband dongles
  • computers, tablets, and general IT equipment
  • streaming, software, or gaming subscriptions
  • television, radio, and telephone equipment
  • general electrical work not directly related to internet equipment installation.
  • The program provides subsidised internet for 24 months from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2028.
  • After the subsidised period, you'll have an established internet connection with your chosen provider. You can continue your service at the provider's standard market rates, cancel the plan, change to a different plan, or switch providers — the choice is yours.
  • No. You can use any eligible broadband service — including Starlink, NBN, or other providers available in your area.
