Hundreds from the Clarke Creek community have come together for the 2026 Lexus Melbourne Cup Tour fundraising luncheon hosted by the Clarke Creek Pony Club.
Sponsored by Squadron Energy’s Clarke Creek Wind Farm 2, the major community event was held at The Homestead in Lotus Creek last Sunday.
Local families, community members, racing enthusiasts and volunteers gathered to celebrate at the luncheon.
Clarke Creek Pony Club was one of just 37 clubs chosen to host the tour from more than 130 applicants, making it a rare opportunity for the local community.

Squadron Energy Head of Stakeholder Engagement and Community Relations Kath Elliott said Clarke Creek Wind Farm 2 was delighted to sponsor the club following its selection.
“We’re proud to support events that bring local communities together and create opportunities for people to connect,” Ms Elliott said.
“Clarke Creek Pony Club has done a fantastic job hosting this unique event, and it was great to see so many people come out and enjoy the day.”
Clarke Creek Pony Club Treasurer Meghan Speed said the event exceeded expectations.

“The luncheon was incredible, and it was so wonderful to see the community come together to support Clarke Creek Pony Club,” Ms Speed said.
“We don’t have many opportunities in our small district for positive community engagement and connection, and this was one of those events!
“All reports are that everyone had a wonderful day, so I am super happy with the outcome.”
Guests enjoyed raffles, competitions, hobby horse racing and live music throughout the day.
Squadron Energy’s support helped cover catering costs for the fundraiser, contributing to the event’s success.
