Folk and contemporary music festival creates magical night for Coolac community

Squadron Energy has helped bring a night of folk and country tunes to the town of Coolac as part of this year’s Small Halls Festival.

The musical event, which is produced by Woodfordia Inc, features folk and contemporary artists playing tunes at 14 stops across Australia.

This includes performances from tiny halls to community centres in regional areas.

Squadron Energy’s Saddletop Wind Farm sponsored the festival held at the Coolac Memorial Hall last month.

It featured music from Australian indie-pop and folk musician Tullara and Métis Canadian singer-songwriter Joe H. Henry.

Coolac Memorial Hall Treasurer Carolyn Harris thanked Squadron Energy for the support.

“Having the Smalls Halls Festival come to Coolac was really special for our community,” she said.

“These events bring people together, fill the hall with life and remind us how important spaces like this are.

“We’re grateful to Squadron Energy’s Saddletop Wind Farm for supporting a night where locals got to enjoy live music.”

Squadron Energy Saddletop Wind Farm Project Manager Nadine Caff said it is great to see the Small Halls Festival play in Coolac.

“Carol and the hall committee do an outstanding job working with organisations such as Woodfordia to bring vibrant, high-quality entertainment to the region,” she said.

“The Small Halls Festival is the latest event we’ve been proud to support at the Coolac Memorial Hall, following our previous support for the hall’s re-opening and a Rural Women’s Day Event.

“It’s always enjoyable to contribute to the strong social connections and community life that the Coolac Memorial Hall and its volunteers foster.”
