A new partnership with Squadron Energy’s Port Kembla Energy Terminal will strengthen this work, with the company contributing $10,000 to support local programs, improve boutique visibility and help expand services across the Illawarra.

The organisation also plays an important role in the circular fashion economy, redistributing thousands of donated clothing items each year and preventing quality garments from going to landfill.

Squadron Energy is Australia’s leading renewable energy company, developing and operating projects across the country while investing in local community initiatives connected to its projects.

The company is currently involved in major energy infrastructure in the region, including the Port Kembla Energy Terminal and the proposed Illawarra Firming Power Station at Unanderra, as part of its work to strengthen Australia’s energy system while supporting local communities.

Dress for Success Illawarra Operations Manager Rachel Dyer said the partnership would have a direct impact on women accessing services locally.

“This funding allows us to continue delivering practical support to women at the point they need it most, whether that’s preparing for an interview, starting a new role or rebuilding after a setback,” Ms Dyer said.

“It also strengthens our ability to create a welcoming, professional environment where women feel confident and ready to take their next step.”

Squadron Energy Port Kembla Energy Terminal Senior Operations Readiness Manager Rita Boyd said the company was proud to support an organisation delivering tangible outcomes in the community.

“Dress for Success Illawarra is creating real impact by helping women build confidence and access opportunities,” she said.

As a company delivering projects in the Illawarra, it’s important that we also invest in initiatives that strengthen the local community. This partnership aligns with our commitment to supporting wellbeing, opportunity and connection.”

Dress for Success NSW & ACT CEO Sonia Casanova said the partnership reflects the value of collaboration between industry and community organisations.

“We are grateful to Squadron Energy for their support of our Illawarra service,” Ms Casanova said.

“Partnerships like this enable us to continue delivering practical programs that help women prepare for work, rebuild confidence and achieve economic independence.”

The funding will support upcoming community initiatives, including fashion fundraising events and improvements to the boutique environment, ensuring the service remains accessible, visible and responsive to local need.
