Squadron Energy’s Sapphire Wind Farm team got into the holiday spirit over Christmas with the donation of a sundry of toys for children in need.
The donation was part of Inverell Community Sewing for Charity’s annual Christmas drive, which involves the organisation collecting toys to donate to the Rural Outreach Support Service in Inverell.
Local parents and caregivers are then invited to choose from these toys to gift to their children for Christmas.
The organisation thanked Squadron Energy “for their very generous donation of toys”.
“This year, we were relayed two beautiful stories that reinforced how wonderful this project is,” an Inverell Community Sewing for Charity spokesperson said.
“A grandfather had his grandchildren unexpectedly left with him for Christmas – no clothes, no gifts – and Squadron Energy’s donation made Christmas possible for this family.”
The spokesperson gave another example of a mother and her family who “escaped domestic violence and had fled, taking nothing” also receiving donated toys.
“Again, our heartfelt thanks to Squadron Energy for the support,” they added.
The donation was one of a few local Christmas initiatives Squadron Energy was involved in, with Sapphire Wind Farm also supporting the Glen Innes Highlands Lioness-Lions Club Christmas drive.
