Community groups are encouraged to apply to the Ballyrogan Wind Farm Community Sponsorship Program for funding for projects that deliver practical benefits for locals.

The program is designed to back initiatives that respond to local needs from strengthening community connections to protecting the environment to supporting education initiatives.

Squadron Energy Senior Project Manager Laura Jeffrey said the program is about supporting what matters most locally.

“We know there are already many local groups that are doing valuable work in the community,” Ms Jeffrey said.

“These organisations know what locals need and we want to help them make a real difference on the ground.”

Some of the projects Squadron Energy has sponsored so far, include:

  • Cottage by the Sea – supporting local Year 5 students to attend the Take a Break program in Queenscliff
  • Ararat Emergency Relief Committee – supporting Life Links Church to upgrade facilities in its community kitchen
  • Warrak Recreation Reserve – supporting the purchase of new picnic tables.

Squadron Energy is also seeking community input to help shape a longer-term community benefits package that reflects local needs and priorities.

Community members and organisations can contact the project team on 0483 902 584 or email ballyroganwind@squadronenergy.com to discuss opportunities.
