Squadron Energy has thanked the local community for sharing their feedback on the proposed Moreton Hill Wind Farm at pop-up stalls in Linton and Skipton, and at a community workshop in Skipton over the past two months.
The workshop had 15 community members in attendance, who had their say on the project’s community investment program specifically.
Feedback gathered at the workshop covered a range of local priorities, including infrastructure, community facilities, sporting groups, training opportunities and emergency services support.
Squadron Energy General Manager Development, Alastair Smith said sharing benefits of the energy transition with locals was integral to Squadron’s approach as a renewable energy company.
“We appreciate everyone who took the time to come and say hi, ask questions and share their views with us at the pop-up stalls we held in Linton and Skipton,” Mr Smith said.
“Every conversation we have, helps us understand what matters most to local communities as we plan for how Squadron Energy can help make these great communities even better.”
The planning permit applications for the proposed Moreton Hill Wind Farm are now on public exhibition. Community members can make a submission on the Department of Transport and Planning website until 1 September:
The Moreton Hill Wind Farm is proposed to have up to 62 turbines, with an expected capacity of around 420 megawatts – enough to power around 260,000 homes each year.
