Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund awards grants to six local community projects

Six local organisations in the Inverell region have been successful in round 1 of the 2026 Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund.
Administered by Inverell Shire Council, Squadron Energy’s Sapphire Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund provides grants to eligible local organisations for equipment and infrastructure upgrades, repairs and renovations, and community programs and events that deliver lasting benefits for the local community.

Ten members of the Australian Local Government Women’s Association (ALGWA) have made a rare site visit to Squadron Energy’s Sapphire Wind Farm.
The ALGWA, an organisation that advocates for women in local government, were able to see how wind farms operate up close.
