Students from St Brigid’s College Horsham took centre stage in a spectacular production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, with Squadron Energy’s Murra Warra Wind Farm helping bring the show to life.

The musical was held at the Horsham Town Hall in Victoria last Thursday and Friday.

It showed the talents of students from across the school, who spent weeks rehearsing and preparing their performances for audiences from the local community.

Support from Murra Warra Wind Farm helped cover production costs and ensure students could participate in a high-quality performing arts experience.

Executive Producer and Director of the show and St Brigid’s College staff member Vicki Thomas thanked Squadron Energy for helping make the production such a success.

“Bringing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to life has been an incredibly rewarding journey,” Ms Thomas said.

“I am immensely proud of our cast, crew, staff and students who made the production such a success.

“On behalf of the entire team, I would like to sincerely thank Squadron Energy for their generous support.

“Your contribution helped create an unforgettable experience for our students and community.”

Murra Warra Wind Farm Site Operations Manager Chris Gulvin, who attended the musical with Junior Site Operations Manager Mark Thorsby, said the project team was pleased to support a production that showcased the creativity and talent of local students.

“It’s fantastic to see the creativity, commitment and talent of St Brigid’s College students on display through a production of this scale,” Mr Gulvin said.

“School productions provide opportunities for young people to develop confidence, work together and learn new skills, both on and off stage.

“We’re pleased Murra Warra Wind Farm could support an experience that brought the community together and created lasting memories for everyone involved.”

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory follows young Charlie Bucket as he discovers a rare golden ticket, earning him a tour of Willy Wonka’s extraordinary chocolate factory.
