A workshop has been held for residents in Conargo to help shape community benefits for Squadron Energy’s proposed Conargo Wind Farm.
The workshop had community members explore local priorities and discuss how funding associated with the proposed wind farm could be used to deliver lasting outcomes for the region.
The central idea behind the AEMO’s 2026 Integrated System Plan (ISP) is clear – renewable energy, firmed with storage, connected by transmission and backed up by gas is the least-cost pathway to deliver reliable and affordable electricity.
This is a central message fully endorsed by Squadron Energy. Squadron is committed to progressing its pipeline of wind, storage and firming projects to support this pathway.

The wind farm has supported the installation of a new battery system for Deniliquin Boat Club, a PA system for Deniliquin Rams Football and Netball Club and sponsorship of Can Assist’s popular High Tea event.
Squadron Energy’s Conargo Wind Farm has sponsored the year’s Deniliquin Can Assist High Tea, with locals gathering at Deniliquin Town Hall.
The highly popular event supports cancer patients and their families across the region.
Squadron Energy’s Conargo Wind Farm supported the installation of batteries at Deniliquin Boat Club for its solar panels.
The battery system will improve the boat club’s energy resilience while supporting long‑term sustainability along the Edward River.
The Conargo Wind Farm project team continues to refine the project layout, informed by ongoing technical and environmental assessments such as flood and hydrology modelling

Key initiatives include funding Disaster Relief Australia’s Big Map for emergency planning, delivering a First Nations training program in Wellington, leading research on bat collision risks at wind farms, and partnering with Dubbo Regional Council on an advanced wastewater treatment facility.
